Aims and scope

Journal of Work, Environment, Occupational Health and Safety is an international refereed journal publishes quarterly online open access by KMF that publishes articles and communications in the interdisciplinary area of environmental health sciences and public health. It provides occupational health physicians, doctors, nurses, engineers, ergonomists, and a wide range of occupational hygiene, health and safety professionals with a dependable single source of proficiently written legal, practical and management occupational health information. In-depth, original articles and systematic reviews concerning occupational medicine that are up-to-date with new medical developments in the prevention, diagnosis, and rehabilitation of work-related injuries and illnesses are welcome. Additionally, this journal will consider toxicological investigations both in in vitro and in vivo models, focused on defining early effects and modes of action, also through innovative analytical techniques, of workplace xenobiotics, including chemicals at the nanoscale. A further topic covered in this journal will be the assessment of risks in occupational settings, and the definition of strategies for risk management in order to prevent workplace-related disease, and to promote healthier workplace settings. Overall, Journal of Work, Environment, Occupational Health and Safety aims to be a useful source for innovative perspectives, practices, and policies focused on the promotion of well-being in the workplace. The scope of the journal is broad, covering toxicology, ergonomics, psychosocial factors and other relevant health issues of workers, with special emphasis on the current developments in occupational health. The journal also accepts various methodologies that are relevant to investigation of occupational health risk factors and exposures, such as large-scale epidemiological studies, human studies employing biological techniques and fundamental experiments on animals, and also welcomes submissions concerning occupational health practices and related issues. Our mission involves both looking at each problem in its cultural, social and economic contexts and approaching it from the broad perspective of various fields.
