Aims and scope
Journal of Planning and Built Environment is an international refereed, online open access journal dedicated to addressing the present researches, developments and best practices in the field of built environment which includes Urban and Regional Planning, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Construction and Building and Infrastructure Development in view of social, cultural, economic and environmental sustainability. Focusing on the global audience with an aim to engage their interest, Journal of Planning and Built Environment publishes articles that cover various themes and current topics which attract the interests of researchers, practitioners, government agencies, the private sectors, non-governmental organisations and local communities. In addition to peer-reviewed articles, Journal of Planning and Built Environment publishes essays on a wide range of topical issues of relevance to the discipline and practice of architecture, together with reviews of books, exhibitions and multimedia. The Journal of Planning and Built Environment publishes contributions from and about a wide range of locations for a global readership. Its Editorial Board is enhanced by regional editors in around twenty countries. It furthers this aim by publishing original scholarship from around the world. To this end, the journal welcomes full-length articles, research notes, and reviews of books, films and other media from those working across the Planning and Built Environmenin all parts of the world. Priority is given to methodological, comparative and theoretical advances. The journal also publishes occasional special issues. Its special thematic issues contribute to the confrontation of scholarly perspectives on overlooked problems – a must-read for faculty, doctoral and graduate students, as well as for architects and the general intellectual audience.
Subject Areas
Journal of Planning and Built Environment consistently covers a wide array of subject areas, including urban and regional planning, architecture, quantity surveying, landscape architecture, Construction and Building and Infrastructure Development in view of social, cultural, economic and environmental sustainability, acoustics, construction, construction management, controls, electrical engineering and systems, indoor environmental quality, lighting and daylighting, mechanical engineering and systems, rehabilitation of existing structures, structural assessment, structural engineering, and sustainable construction/design, in the context of building systems engineering. Innovative and multi-disciplinary studies promoting an integrated approach to planning, design, construction and operation of buildings are especially encouraged. Journal of Planning and Built Environment welcomes papers based on original research, critical policy debates and comparative analyses. Submissions and subscriptions are open to all.

Journal of Planning and Built Environment is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics. KMF takes the responsibility to enforce a rigorous peer-review together with strict ethical policies and standards to ensure to add high quality scientific works to the field of scholarly publication. Unfortunately, cases of plagiarism, data falsification, inappropriate authorship credit, and the like, do arise. KMF takes such publishing ethics issues very seriously and our editors are trained to proceed in such cases with a zero tolerance policy. To verify the originality of content submitted to our journals, we use latest software to check submissions against previous publications.
